Travel Team

Our club includes a competitive travel basketball program.  We work to develop boys and girls typically grades 6th-12th   to become competiive travel teams. We often say that winning is secondary to developing our kids! Our goal is to win every time we step on the court, but we want our players to experience different brands of basketball in other parts of the country. It is imperative to reach your highest potential, you must guage your talents and IQ against players with greater talent and IQ. Our club has a progressive program that allows players to earn the opportunity to grow from one team level to another by committment, dedication and sacrifice to the game. We often travel with 5 to 7 teams that allows club and team bonding. We foster a structured, safe and fun environment to insure that our kids as well as our parents get the maximum opportunity to learn each other on and off the court. We have a chaparone program where kids may travel with coaches to tournaments if parents are unable to atternd as well.

Blue Teams:

These are typically our more advance/competitive teams. These teams generally play tournaments in and out of state at a high level to insure maximum exposure. These are our teams that may attend NCAA VIEWING TOURNAMENTS. We coach them tough as they are held to a high standard. (In most cases our spring/summer travel schedule is set in advance)

Gray Teams:

These are typically our teams that are talented and competitive, yet still learning the detailed fundamentals of the game as well as the A.E.A system. Also these can be teams that have played together for quite some time and will also play some select local and out of state tournaments.

Orange Teams:

These are typically our teams that play in the local Excel youth league. These players are generally new to our system and maybe new to the game of basketball. Our objective is to develop them with encouragement and fundamental teaching.

Tryouts/Open run:

We will typically have 2 days of tryouts. We will run the players through basic fundamental drills then set up some structured offensive and defensive concepts.  The players will play several games each day to insure a comfort level with our expectations. Tryouts for ages 6-17 are held after every 7 week Excel league schedule.

Grade Confirmation:

Players participating under the grade eligibility exception must present a birth certificate and report card for confirmation of grade level. Grade level is determined by players’ grade on September 1st, current year.
